Green batter dosa

Green batter dosa is famous breakfast in South India 

in South India all hotel and restaurant you can get green dosa πŸ˜‹  in green color you think we add any food color or anything  No we not add any colour  its natural color   green dosa means pesara dosa (pesara attu)  pesara meaning in South moong dal
we use green moong dal that's why we got green colour      It's good and healthy breakfast  different types of dosa's available in india so many people like to eat different colours of food and add colours in food sometimes it's ok but lot's of times food artificial colours give some health issues  but this does give you a good health you can use green and yellow moong dal   


                 How to make green dosa 
first soak the moong beans 6to7 hours  in water grind them with  herb's   and spices
use  the batter  straightway after grinding

Firstly, rinse ½ cup whole moong beans and 1&2 tablespoons rice a couple of times in water. Then soak the moong beans and rice for ,6to 7hours or overnight in enough water. Drain all the water. The soaked moong beans and rice.

 In a blender or mixer-grinder, add the moong beans and rice after draining all the water. You can even rinse the moong beans and rice before grinding

Add 1 green chilli (chopped), 2 tablespoons chopped coriander leaves, 1 inch ginger (chopped), ½ teaspoon cumin seeds, 1 pinch asafoetida (optional), salt as per taste and ⅓ to ½ cup water. Skip asafoetida for a gluten-free moong dal dosa.

Grind or blend to a smooth batter. The batter consistency is similar to that of a regular Dosa 

On a cast iron tawa or skillet , smear some oil or ghee with a paper towel or with half of an onion. Keep the heat to low or medium-low when spreading the pesarattu batter.

Sprinkle some finely chopped onions, chopped green chilies and coriander leaves


Press these with the spatula so that they get stuck to the batter which is getting cooked. Drizzle oil at the sides and in the center.

 Flip and cook the second side for a half a minute or a minute. This will just lightly cook the onions


Fold and serve Green dosa.

Green dosa serve with coconut chutney
